Polish those glass slippers, dust off that pumpkin and get ready to have a ball! And Tyne Theatre & Opera House are not wrong. From start to finish, a good two-and-a-half hours later, we had laughed, sang, shouted out and had a thoroughly good time watching Cinderella, this year's Panto offering at Tyne Theatre & Opera House, one of the city centre theatres in Newcastle, and one that dates back to 1867.

One of the most famous pantomimes of all, Cinderella at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House in Newcastle, offers festive family fun this Christmas. The lovable Buttons, the handsome Prince Charming, the wicked Ugly Sisters, the magical Fairy Godmother and of course.
With an all-star cast Cinderella mixes great local talent with household names:
- Singing Legend – MAUREEN NOLAN as ‘Fairy Godmother’
- Britain’s Got Talent Winner – JAMIE LAMBERT from Collabro as ‘Prince Charming’
- X-Factor Finalist – LOLA SAUNDERS as ‘Cinderella’
- The Hilarious – CHARLIE RICHMOND as ‘Buttons’
- Mike from CBBC’s Tracy Beaker and The Dumping Ground – CONNOR BYRNE as ‘Baron Hardup’
- Back by popular demand – LEWIS DENNY as ‘Dandini’
Following the traditional story, there are jokes aplenty, a full array of songs and great performances all around. The 12 Days of Christmas sketch was an absolute hoot.
And it was great to see The Greatest Showman and Baby Shark on stage again too! The live band was fantastic and loved how they didn't just play accompanying music but played there own part in the panto too.
This was our second panto, and third Christmas show this festive season however that didn’t dampen our enthusiasm at all. We had great fun and we can’t wait until 5 January for our fourth and final show this Christmas.
