I do love having the boys art on the kitchen wall. In fact, at one time the boys were so prolific that we had nearly every wall covered. And some of it is really good. Yet we just don’t have enough wall space. So now every time the boys create something special I am adding it to an online gallery (on Pinterest) with some of my favourite ones already on our walls.
This month it is an elephant, painted by my eldest at school when he was six and in Year 2.
I love the colour, the humour, the design. It's right up my street.
And I also love the fact that it has great memories for him. He still remembers being allowed to paint this at school as a treat for the whole class for something really good they had done.
He can’t remember the details but knows it was a reward! And now is one for me and the family.

Why is art good for kids?
Art can help to develop the whole brain. Art strengthens focus and increases attention, develops hand-eye co-ordination, requires practice and strategic thinking, and involves interacting with the material world through different tools and art mediums.
In my opinion, it is just as important as English, maths and science.
Thank you for taking the time to have a look!
